In Florida, November is adoption month

On Behalf of | Nov 16, 2016 | Adoption |

Florida Gov. Rick Scott has named November as Florida Adoption Month. With the help of the Florida Department of Children and Families, Scott has initiated the “30 Days of Amazing Children” campaign.

Every day of the month, the Florida Department of Children and Families will make note of two children from the state who are seeking a permanent home.

With a robust online campaign in place, families will have the opportunity to learn more about the children available for adoption in the state.

Gov. Scott added the following:

“I am proud to celebrate Florida Adoption Month as we raise awareness of foster care adoptions in Florida. Every child deserves a loving family and adoption provides a unique opportunity to improve children’s lives and enrich the lives of adoptive parents.”

In 2016 alone, approximately 3,400 children in Florida have been adopted. Taking this one step further, the Florida Department of Children and Families has found families for nearly 50,000 children in the state over the past 15 years.

If you have any interest in adopting a foster child, it’s important to understand the process for doing so. For example, you’re required to attend a 10-week training session. Along with this, you must take part in a home study.

At our law firm, we know that there are many Florida families looking to adopt. We take great pride in providing all the legal services they require in order to make this happen. When you know which steps to take, it’s much easier to find and adopt a child in an efficient, stress free manner.
